Rosey Lea to host its first ever Christmas shopping event

There will be plenty of opportunity to eat, drink and be merry when café and tea room Rosey Lea hosts its first ever Christmas shopping evening.

Around 15 local businesses will be setting out their wares at Rosey Lea’s Wickham Hall branch on Sunday, December 1 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Rosey Lea founder Leanne Gregory said: “This is the first time we've organised such an event and we've had so much interest that we can’t fit any more businesses in.”

She said Rosey Lea decided to host the evening to encourage people to shop local, adding: “If it’s successful, we'll potentially make it a lot bigger next year.”

The sellers, producers and artisans represented on the night include My Friend the Florist, Emma Turpin Jewellery, The Soap Room, Fly Style Clothing, Wren and Willow and The Very English Wine Company.

Carol singers from Stortford choir The Harmonaires will be performing, with donations going to Save the Children.

Leanne said: “We enjoy the Christmas season and the build-up to Christmas is what it’s all about. We at Rosey Lea want to make the Christmas shopping experience more enjoyable and relaxing, and we have so many amazing businesses that we hand-picked to join us.”

Tickets are £4 in advance or £5 on the door and include mulled wine and mince pies. Call 01279 655351 to book.
