Bishop's Stortford Rotary Club golf day raises more than £11,500 for charity
The 20th consecutive annual Bishop's Stortford Rotary Club golf day has raised more than £11,500 for good causes.
In all, 22 fourballs – two more than in 2018 – battled it out on the tees, fairways and greens of Bishop's Stortford Golf Club. The team from Russell Property, the North Street estate agent with a branch in Stansted, emerged victorious.
After 121 diners enjoyed a slap-up meal at the clubhouse in Dunmow Road, David Graveney OBE, a former chairman of selectors for the England Test cricket team and national performance manager, was guest speaker.
An open auction, conducted by Hugo Richardson of Weldon Beasley, followed.
Rotary president David Royle said: "We are, once again, as a club, tremendously grateful to everyone who supported our golf day and made it such an enjoyable and successful event. Even more importantly, I say thank you on behalf of the many charitable causes which will benefit as a direct result of such generous support."
