Sawbridgeworth postie Lynn Bryant in sponsors plea to go to World Deaf Rugby XV 2020

Rugby-playing postie Lynn Bryant is halfway towards her target in her bid to raise money to play in the first World Deaf XV championships in South Africa.

Lynn, who has delivered mail in Sawbridgeworth for 14 years, is looking for sponsors to help raise the £1,500 needed to participate for England in the tournament.

Lynn trains once a week with Harlow Ladies and once a month with England Deaf in Birmingham.

“The training is exactly the same, but the difference for me with England Deaf is I can really focus on the game instead of having to really look at someone’s face to see what they’re saying,” said Lynn.

Lynn’s daughter Katrina issued a call-out for more donations this week. She said: “Thank you so much to all those who have contributed so far... if anyone is looking to sponsor her then please get in touch and that can be arranged.”

Raffles were being held and Katrina added: “If anyone gets any unwanted gifts for Christmas or finds anything in the new year sales then please get in contact with myself to donate it towards the raffle.”
