Bett UK 2024: ‘Digital leaders’ from Reedings Junior School in Sawbridgeworth get to judge new ed-tech

Pupils from a Sawbridgeworth school had a ball at a prestigious exhibition in London, enjoying the wide range of technology to try out before taking to the stage as judges to present an award.

Six ‘digital leaders’ from Reedings Junior School were part of the judging panel for Kids Judge Bett at the Bett UK 2024 ed-tech show held at the ExCel Centre in Docklands from January 24 to 26.

Another two students from the Bullfields school enjoyed exploring the exhibition and expressed amazement at the wide range of technology available.

Reedings teacher Alison Walker said: “The atmosphere throughout the exhibition was electric and the children couldn’t believe how much technology was out there – and they only saw a fraction of the stands!”

Mrs Walker added the students “took a shine to the VR technology and interactive floor/wall, which incorporated technology, fitness and a range of curriculum areas”.

The day culminated in the young judges taking to the BETT Arena stage, alongside children’s author Michael Rosen, to present the award to their favourite stand.

Mrs Walker added: “The children took their roles seriously and worked fantastically together to decide on their winner and write the speech they were going to give during the ceremony.”
