Sawbridgeworth Town Twinning Association group takes in heritage during visit to Bry-sur-Marne in Paris suburbs

A group from Sawbridgeworth Town Twinning Association enjoyed another visit to their French twin of Bry-sur-Marne and took the chance to visit several public buildings as part of a local heritage day.

The visit to the commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, over the weekend of September 20-22, saw the party being received at the town hall on arrival, before departing with their hosts for dinner.

On Saturday, as part of the Journées européennes du patrimoine, association members went to public buildings and resassembled for a formal dinner in the evening.

Short speeches were made, including a message from Sawbridgeworth mayor Cllr Reece Smith, and gifts exchanged. The group gave the French mayor a bottle of Hattingley Valley Classic Reserve sparkling wine.

On the return home on Sunday, members enjoyed a convivial lunch at the Terminus restaurant opposite the Gare du Nord.

A group from the German twin town of Moosburg arrive in Sawbridgeworth on October 24 for four days and a group from Bry will be entertained next September.
