Havers Lane Tesco Express shoplifter uses pram to steal cheese and wine

A woman used a pram to hide wine and cheese she stole from Tesco Express in Bishop’s Stortford.

Police said the shoplifter took the items from the store in Havers Lane on Monday (Oct 18) at 8.50am.

“She entered the store pushing a pram and put items in the bottom before placing her coat on top of them,” said PC Derek Lewin, of Bishop’s Stortford police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Last Sunday (Oct 17) at around 3.15pm, a man stole a large quantity of make-up products worth £630 from Boots the Chemist in Potter Street by stuffing them in his coat pockets.

PC Lewin said: “The suspect was challenged by staff to show his bags, which he did, but as he walked away the staff member heard clinking in his pockets.”

A man and a woman in their late 30s or early 40s stole spirits worth £136 from Waitrose in Northgate End on Wednesday October 13 at 6.20pm.

The woman was of large build and had her brown hair in a bun. She was wearing a dark Ellesse jumper and white trainers, and carrying white and black bags. The man was about 6ft tall, slimly built and wore a grey jumper and joggers. Both were white.

A woman stole food and drink worth £14 from Aldi in London Road between 4.30pm and 4.40pm on Thursday October 14. Staff saw her putting the items in her bag.
