Tinned food, chocolate, cognac and honey stolen from Tesco Express, Sainsbury's and Aldi in Bishop's Stortford
A shoplifter stole £200 worth of tinned tuna, corned beef and chocolate from Tesco Express in Bishop’s Stortford town centre.
The crook targeted the South Street store last Wednesday (Jan 13) at around 9.15pm and stuffed the groceries in two shopping bags. A staff member went to investigate and spooked the thief, who fled.
Another shoplifter was chased from a town centre supermarket after taking three bottles of cognac, worth £111, last Tuesday afternoon (Jan 12).
He tried to sneak out of Sainsbury’s in Jackson Square with the stolen Courvoisier, but triggered the alarm. A security guard pursued him but he escaped.
And a stocky white man with an Irish accent, thought to be aged 34 to 40, stole several jars of manuka honey from Aldi in London Road on Friday (Jan 15).
