Police are investigating two supermarket shoplifting incidents in Bishop’s Stortford and an attempted break-in at a Sawbridgeworth shop.

Two hours later, at Aldi, a shoplifter stole meat products, concealing them in a bag. “Attempts were also made to steal a bottle of wine, but this was recovered,” said the spokeswoman.

An attempted burglary at The Tuck Shop in Bell Street, Sawbridgeworth, at 1am on Thursday (July 4) was also reported.

“The front door of the shop was kicked several times, causing damage to the glass. Entry was not gained,” said police.
