Couple steal two baskets of alcohol from Tesco in Bishop’s Stortford

A shoplifting couple used an area reserved for staff to walk out of Tesco in Bishop’s Stortford with a shopping basket full of alcohol each.

The incident happened at the retail giant’s Lancaster Way store at Bishop’s Park at around 5.25pm on Wednesday September 11.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: “Two people – a black male and a white female – entered the store and each filled a basket with alcohol before leaving via a staff-only area without paying.”

CCTV enquiries are being conducted.
