Stansted Remembrance Day Parade and Service: Soldiers lead the way for village Remembrance Sunday event.
Soldiers from Carver Barracks led the Remembrance Sunday parade down Chapel Hill to Stansted Memorial Gardens where hundreds had gathered to pay their respects to the fallen.
The contingent from the 33 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) based nearby in Wimbish, joined the associate priest of St John's Church, Rev Helen Flack, as she led the annual service of remembrance within the church grounds.
Key members of the community, including representatives from the parish and district councils, police and fire services and a 50-strong troop of Stansted Scouts, took part in the parade as it set off from Crafton Green down the hill to the gardens where they then laid wreaths at the foot of the war memorial.
Stansted Parish Council chair Maureen Caton said that for the first time, St John's Church Hall was opened up to parishioners afterwards where teas, coffees and biscuits were served.
"We had a lot of people stay afterwards in the church hall which we've never done before and people really appreciated it," she said. "We had another good turnout this year and Rev Helen Flack did us proud."
