South Street action! Filming of new Spider-man movie gets under way in Stortford
It was an early start for film crews, movie buffs and celeb spotters as work on the new Spider-man blockbuster got under way in Bishop's Stortford on Monday (July 2).
The interiors of the disused former post office in South Street and the News & Booze convenience store in North Street were the locations for filming of Spider-man: Far From Home, which is due to be released on July 5, 2019.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, aka crime-fighting web-slinger Spider-man, after first donning the tight-fitting red and blue superhero outfit in last summer’s Spider-man: Homecoming. The 22-year-old Londoner reportedly made the trip to Stortford on Monday by train.
Indie reporter Megan Kiely, accompanied by photographer Vikki Lince, was on the scene from 7am as she spent the day covering the action. You can read her report, The Day Hollywood Came to Stortford, in Wednesday’s Bishop’s Stortford Independent newspaper – a July the 4th Spidey special!
