Car thieves stole a blue BMW M4 from the driveway of a house in Rochford Road on the Parsonage estate overnight on Saturday and Sunday (Oct 2-3).

Bishop’s Stortford police inspector Mark Collins said there had been a rise in the number of thefts of keyless, high-end vehicles and he urged owners to take extra precautions.

“These thieves are just outside your door and don’t want to be challenged, so anything you can do to slow them down, like a crook lock, is the difference between them taking your car or leaving it behind,” he said.
