Specialist tools stolen from tradesman’s van in Church Street, Bishop’s Stortford

Thieves stole specialist tools from the back of a van while the owner was loading up in Bishop’s Stortford.

Police said the white Ford Transit was parked in Church Street on Friday June 27, between 6.45pm and 7.15pm, when the theft occurred.

The victim was preparing to leave when he noticed his tool bag had gone.

“It contained a specific tool used to seal up electricity meters and he has a legal requirement to report it missing,” said Insp Mark Collins. “It also contained spanners, screwdrivers and a gas testing device.”

There was no value given for the items stolen.

Anyone with information should contact Herts police on 101, quoting crime reference 41/60109/25.
