St Clare Hospice hope 10k fun run will raise more than £14,000

The St Clare Hospice 10k fun run celebrates its 25th anniversary on Sunday (April 7).

The fundraiser first took place in 1994. The route for the inaugural run was different to the one which has always subsequently been used as it was changed to avoid traffic hazards.

The 6.2-mile road race starts and finishes at the hospice in Hastingwood, on the outskirts of Harlow. It is suitable for all abilities, whether you’re new to running or a club runner looking for a personal best. It is also suitable for wheelchair athletes.

New for this year, Harlow Running Club is providing pacers for the run.

It is UK Athletics affiliated and chip-timed, with trophies up for grabs in the following categories: male, female, senior, junior and wheelchair athletes. Medals will be awarded to all runners.

Registration costs £15 on the day (April 7) and the registration desk will open at 9.30am, with the race starting at 10.30am. It is open to runners aged 15 and above.

Last year’s event attracted a field of 320 runners and generated more than £14,000 for the hospice.
