St Clare Hospice postpones Winter Walkies fundraiser

St Clare Hospice is putting its annual Winter Walkies fundraiser on paws as a result of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

The charity had invited dog owners to take their pets for a 5k (3.1-mile) stroll through the west Essex countryside around its Hastingwood hospice on Sunday February 28, but organisers have decided to postpone the event.

A spokeswoman for the good cause said: "At the moment the date is still to be confirmed, but people can register for an update on the event by visiting stclarehospice.org.uk/event/winterwalkies."

The popular ‘Cutest Canine Competition’ – where St Clare supporters can submit a photo of their pet pooch to win a hamper of doggy goodies – has also been postponed. The new dates will be announced in due course.
