Stansted Airport staff spread festive spirit with gifts for Grove Cottage, The Welbeloved Club and Company at Christmas

Stansted Airport staff are spreading Christmas cheer with festive initiatives for families, community groups and schools.

This year’s Yuletide campaign includes 30 hampers delivered to Grove Cottage in Bishop’s Stortford, which supports children and adults with learning disabilities; over 300 books gifted to primary schools; and 125 confectionery selection boxes donated to The Welbeloved Club’s pensioners’ Christmas dinner at the Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall.

The airport has also sponsored Christmas puddings and 120 boxes of Matchmakers for Bishop’s Stortford’s Company at Christmas event, which provides a warm and welcoming dinner on December 25 for those who might otherwise spend the day alone.

The business has also provided 180 tickets for families to enjoy the Robin Hood pantomime at South Mill Arts in Bishop’s Stortford and organised a reverse Advent calendar to collect essential items for the Uttlesford Foodbank in Saffron Walden.

Dan Turpin, community engagement manager, said: “Christmas is all about giving back, and it’s been amazing to see the generosity and enthusiasm of our staff in supporting these initiatives.

“We’re proud to work closely with local groups and organisations to help bring extra joy and support to the community we’re so connected with.”
