Hertfordshire Highways closes Stansted Road in Bishop's Stortford overnight for drainage improvement




A section of a major artery into Bishop’s Stortford will be closed overnight for four days this week, beginning on Monday (October 4).

Hertfordshire Highways will close the B1383 Stansted Road from Cherry Gardens to Orchard Road, from 9pm to 6am until Thursday (October 7) for drainage improvement works,

The road has been subject to flooding for some time following heavy downpours, the last time in August last year.

The news follows closure of a road that runs through the centre of the town centre until October 20.

High Street was closed between Market Square and King Street on September 22 for a high-voltage cable installation associated with the Goodsyard development. Previous works on the Goodsyard development saw Bridge Street, in the town centre, closed for most of last month.
