Cast, Neville Staple Band and Peter Hook and The Light are the headliners for May’s Stone Valley Festival South in East Herts.

The three-day music festival will bring a mix of mod, ska, 60s, indie, northern soul, punk and soul to Hillside Farm in Great Amwell, near Ware.

It will be the second time the festival has been held in East Herts. It is the sister event to SVF North in County Durham, which is now in its seventh sell-out year.

Organisers promise “days of awesome live music for campers and day visitors alike, with a huge outdoor stage, rides and entertainment across a packed bank holiday weekend”.

As well as the headliners, the bands performing include From the Jam, Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band, The Dualers, Secret Affair, The Rezillos, Spitfires, Vapors, Chords UK and Death of Guitar Pop.

There will also be DJ sets from Mike Joyce of The Smiths, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree, and Thomas Turgoose and Andrew Ellis, better known as Shaun and Gadget from This Is England.

Food and drink will be available at the same prices as last year, with fully licensed bars and a big range of vendors.

There are also full 24/7 secure camping facilities, free parking, trade stalls, free drinking water, showers and toilets – all set in a large, picturesque site.

A spokesman said: “Stone Valley Festivals have a fantastic atmosphere, friendly and relaxed for all ages, in a lovely setting, full of like-minded people who love great music and a good time.

"The brilliant live music line-up this year has what the crowds have come to expect at an SVF – something for everyone, with legendary live bands.”

* The festival takes place on May 24, 25 and 26. Day tickets cost from £25. To book, see www.stonevalleyfestival.co.uk/stone-valley-south-home/
