A Bishop's Stortford primary school's supply of library books has been boosted by a Stortford Fields developer.

Bovis Homes gifted £500 to Northgate to invest in new reading materials for its pupils from Years 1 to 6.

Late last year, the same housebuilder provided children with reflective tags during Walk to School Month to help them stay safe during the dark winter months.

Deputy head Katy Jones said: "We're delighted to have this money to put towards developing and upgrading the non-fiction areas in our KS1 and KS2 libraries. The books will enhance the learning around our topics and give children access to a wide variety of subjects."

Jackie Keegan, Bovis's sales manager at Stortford Fields, said: "It's great to have worked with Northgate again to help provide a wider choice of reading materials for its pupils.

"As well as assisting their learning, we hope these new additions to the library will encourage them to read more widely and further develop their passion for reading."
