Visitors invited to see demonstrations and parachuting teddies at Bishop’s Stortford Fire Station Open Day

Firefighters will be putting on a show for visitors on Saturday (July 20) – and besides people popping in to watch, you can see teddies dropping in by parachute.

Bishop’s Stortford fire station’s open day takes place from 11am to 3pm.

Crews will be giving demonstrations on how they handle road traffic collisions, how they put out oil fires and how they go about a smoke house search and rescue, plus CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

There will be food and ice cream, face painting and visitors can view the equipment firefighters use at the station in Patmore Close, including their aerial ladder and water jets.
