In all, 27 employers and support organisations representing banks, law firms, charities and retailers took part via online video conferencing app Zoom. The Army, Royal Navy, Stansted Airport, Network Rail and Greene King were also represented.

Mrs Marson said: “First of all, I’d like to thank all exhibitors for taking part. Hosting the event would not have been possible without their participation. In particular, I’d like to thank them all for being committed to offering some really first-class opportunities to our community.

“I’m over the moon with how the event went. Hosting an event like this will help people to get their foot in the door with recruiters at such a challenging time and climb the ladder of prosperity.

“As I have said before, bringing greater opportunity to Hertford and Stortford is a priority of mine. Hosting a jobs and apprenticeships fair shows my commitment to achieving this, and the comments I have had from residents and exhibitors alike show that the event has been a triumph for our community, our residents and for opportunity.”

She has committed to hosting a similar event in 2021.
