Bishop's Stortford pharmacy to install 24-hour prescription collection service point

A 24-hour prescription collection point is to be installed at Trinity Pharmacy in Bishop's Stortford.

Operated in a similar way to a cashpoint, it is designed to make life easier for customers and to cut waiting times.

The South Street pharmacy will send a patient a text message that their prescription is ready. When convenient, users can go to the collection point, enter their PIN code, make payment if required and collect their medication.

For security purposes, each time a new or repeat prescription is ordered, a new PIN will be sent via SMS.

To enrol for the service, customers will need to sign up and be added to a database.

It follows hot on the heels of the recently installed robot dispenser at the back of the pharmacy and an expansion programme which now allows for more private and one-to-one assessments.

The collection point is set to be installed on November 5 and up and running by the middle of the month.
