Bishop's Stortford police station's community information point to continue

The chance for face-to-face contact at Bishop's Stortford police station for members of the public will continue after a 'community information point' was heralded a success since its launch in mid-April.

The desk, manned by specially trained police support volunteers at the station in Basbow Lane, will continue to operate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11am to 2pm.

Safer Neighbourhood Team inspector Mark Collins said: “The community information point was just one of the ideas suggested by members of the public during our local engagement events and contact via the online feedback platform echo. We were told there was still a need for face-to-face advice and support.

"We're delighted that we can continue to offer this facility to members of the public, thanks to the dedication of our fantastic police support volunteers.

“The information point provides an additional resource in the town, and utilising the skills of our volunteers means that operational police officers based at the station can continue to focus on front-line duties.”
