Staff at Bishop's Stortford's Premier Travel collected 700 gifts for children in care as part of their annual appeal. Customers and local businesses helped the South Street branch make its three-year-old Santa's Sack campaign the most successful to date.
The Christmas appeal for gifts for children aged from newborn up to 16 years of age saw customers donate items from cuddly toys and games to colouring packs.
Judith Bates, branch manager, said: “We’re overwhelmed with the number of gifts collected in this year’s appeal.
“We even ran out of places to store the presents; some people came into the shop with an armful of presents, and others returned more than once with donations.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the customers and businesses in Bishop’s Stortford who contributed and helped make the appeal such a success.”
