Bovis Homes begins fourth phase of building at Stortford Fields
Building work has begun on a further 41 new homes at Stortford Fields, including 39 for private sale and two for local people through shared ownership.
The new phase is the fourth delivered by Bovis Homes at the development off Hadham Road.
Construction also continues on the housebuilder's third phase, which has so far seen 79 out of 96 homes completed and occupied, with 17 to be built.
Bovis Homes, part of Vistry Group, built 70 homes in phase one and 78 in phase two. All of these have been occupied.
The overall Stortford Fields development, by a consortium of developers also including Kier, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey, will total over 2,200 homes.
Jackie Keegan, Bovis sales manager at Stortford Fields, said: "There is strong demand for new housing in the area and we aim to provide more than 700 new homes at Stortford Fields over the course of the wider development.
"Our plan is to deliver these new homes over multiple phases, and we are now nearing the halfway point in our proposed overall build programme for this site.
"At Stortford Fields we have experienced a wide range of interest from both local buyers and house-hunters wanting to relocate from London in search of value for money in a location which has great commuter links into the capital."
