Summer flights take off at Stansted Airport with 7% increase

As temperatures soar this summer, so too do the number of departures from Stansted Airport.

The Civil Aviation Authority predicts 7% more passengers will be jetting off from the Essex hub in the coming months.

As many as 1 in 10 of these holidaymakers will be booking their getaway last minute.

The busiest day for UK airports will be July 27 with 8,841 flights scheduled.
