Bishop’s Stortford branch of Vinegar Hill wins Isabel Hospice Christmas Shop Window Competition for second time
Vinegar Hill has completed a festive double by clinching the Isabel Hospice Christmas Shop Window Competition crown for a second time.
The home, fashion and lifestyle brand’s store in Bishop’s Stortford’s Jackson Square shopping centre, fronting Market Square, wowed the judges to win this year’s title.
The shop, which opened in the town in the autumn of 2021, was also named champion in 2022. Last year’s winner was The Bishop’s Cave in North Street.
There were 21 entries this year for the judging panel to admire as they wandered around the town centre: Bishop’s Stortford BID (Business Improvement District) joint manager Madeleine Lees, deputy mayor Cllr Murray White, Jackson Square’s Corrina Savage, Isabel Hospice volunteer Kim Hollylee and the charity’s long-serving fundraiser and ambassador Renee Friend, who organised the event.
Maison de Florence, in Florence Walk, and Barnes Flooring, in South Street, came second and third respectively.
“All of the windows were different and festive, which made judging very difficult,” said Renee.
“Isabel Hospice is extremely grateful for the support of everyone who entered, to the BID for its support in organising this event and to the Indie for its continuing promotion of this annual event.”
The other entrants were Russell Property, Friends Dress Agency, The Bishop’s Cave (all North Street), Stock Florist, Blink (both Florence Walk), Isabel Hospice, Le Donne II (both Bridge Street), F. J. Zelley Jewellers, Doo-Dah’s (both Palmers Lane), Fashion Interiors (Potter Street), Carla’s Curios & Creations, Heads You Win (both Church Street), PM Estates (Riverside), Fashion Flooring & Interiors (High Street), Highway Cycles, Hair by Elements, Ruby Room (all South Street) and Urban Spa (Devoils Lane).
