Enjoy a takeaway afternoon tea as Down Hall hotel and spa announces reopening date
Takeaway cake will be on the menu when Down Hall reopens later this month.
The relaunch of the 98-bedroom country house hotel and spa, set in 110 acres at Hatfield Heath, will begin on Friday August 21 with an al fresco event featuring live music from noon to 2pm.
For the post-lockdown party, guests can choose between a specially-made picnic to enjoy in the gardens, a traditional afternoon tea or a barbecue served on the terrace.
Created by executive chef Chris Jones, all menus celebrate the best in British produce, with ingredients sourced from the hotel's own vegetable gardens and the local area.
Chris's new afternoon tea boxes feature finger sandwiches, buttermilk scones and a selection of other cakes and patisserie. They cost £17.50 when pre-ordered and are available to collect or to be enjoyed as a picnic in the grounds.
