Bishop's Stortford teacher's appeal for funds to cheer care home residents with books, jigsaws, games and craft kits

A Summercroft Primary School Year 5 teacher is raising money to buy books, jigsaws, craft kits and games for elderly care home residents in Bishop’s Stortford.

Hollie Londors, 33, who also works as a local organiser for Usborne Publishing, hopes to raise £1,000 for her project, which would earn an extra £600 through Usborne’s Community Book Pledge.

Her 85-year-old grandmother Joyce is living in a care home in Colchester. Because of the Covid pandemic, Hollie has been unable to see her for a year, so she has been sending her Usborne products to keep up her spirits.

Joyce has happily received these gifts so Hollie thought she would do something to cheer up isolated elderly folk closer to home.
