Teachers from Bishop's Stortford College tackled a half marathon to raise almost £2,000 for victims of the war in Ukraine.

The 13.1-mile (21.2k) run along the Flitch Way was organised by Lucia Sanchez for British-Ukrainian Aid, which is working to help those with life-changing injuries as a result of the Russian invasion.

Ms Sanchez said: "It is crucial that we all play our part."

She and her colleagues at the Maze Green Road private school completed the challenge on Sunday March 20.

It was the sporty staff's second money-spinning half-marathon. In December 2020 they ran to raise more than £1,600 for Teams4U, which supports underprivileged children.
