Teenage driver arrested after motorbike rider in his 20s dies in Little Walden crash

A teenage woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorbike rider in his 20s was killed in a crash in Uttlesford.

Essex Police officers are investigating the fatal smash in Little Walden on Wednesday evening (August 19).

They were called to reports that a BMW motorbike and a blue Volkswagen up! were in collision on the B1052 Walden Road between Hadstock and Little Walden just after 6.15pm.

A spokesman for the force said: “Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the biker, a man in his 20s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“A woman in her late teens was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She was later released and is now helping us with our enquiries.

“We believe a red vehicle may have been at the scene but [the driver] left before speaking to officers. The driver is asked to please call us on 101.”
