Havers Tesco Express customer hurls fruit and veg as argument develops into food fight

Police were called when a food fight broke out in the aisles of Tesco Express on Bishop's Stortford's Havers estate.

Two customers had an argument. One picked up fruit and veg and started throwing it at the other.

The altercation and criminal damage at the Havers Lane convenience store happened on Thursday July 15 at around 3.15pm.

PC Derek Lewin, of the town's community policing team, said: "The products had to be thrown away."

Meanwhile, at the Tesco Express in the town centre, a shoplifter stole £50 of fresh meat. The theft happened on Thursday July 15 at around 5.20pm.

The thief was a black male wearing a grey beanie hat, black tracksuit trousers and top, and a face mask. He had a blue carrier bag for life.

Police said he picked up packets of meat and left the South Street store without attempting to pay for them.
