Thaxted murder: Kevin Horswill, 51, charged after man fatally assaulted in garden
A 51-year-old Thaxted man is appearing in court today (Wednesday) charged with the murder of a man in the town.
Essex Police was called to reports of a man in his 50s assaulted in a garden in Orchard Close at about 12.35am on Monday (March 18).
A spokesperson said: “Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man died at the scene. Our officers quickly arrested a man in connection with the assault.”
Kevin Horswill, of Magdalen Green, Thaxted, is appearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court this morning, charged with murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Ant Alcock said: “We continue to work to build this case and still want to hear from any members of the public that may have information. If you have any details you’ve not yet shared with police, please contact us.”
Officers want to hear from anyone with information about two other incidents in Thaxted on Sunday evening (March 17) or doorbell footage from the area at the time of them: an altercation at The Star in Mill End at about 10pm and an assault in Orchard Close between 11pm and 11.50pm.
