Thieves target work vans in Sawbridgeworth

Police are investigating a spate of crimes involving vans in Sawbridgeworth.

Three men fled when they were challenged while trying to steal a Ford Transit van from West Road on Monday (Sept 30) at 10.45pm. They had broken into the vehicle and damaged its electric control panels.

Last Tuesday (Sept 24), a Vauxhall van parked in Northfield Road was damaged and tools stolen. Four suspects were seen at around 11.45pm.

And the side panel of a van in White Post Field was damaged some time between September 14 and 29 in an attempt to gain entry. Nothing was taken.
