Thorn Grove Primary School pupils raise more than £4,000 with first ever colour run
Thorn Grove Primary School’s first ever colour run raised more than £4,000.
At the end of term, pupils from nursery through to Year 6 were sponsored to take part in the rainbow race.
They had an added incentive to raise as much money as possible – the year groups which generated the most were rewarded with a chance to throw paint at staff!
One of the parent-teacher association organisers, Jo Fourace, said: “The teachers were great sports and really got involved.”
There were rewards for the pupils who generated most money: Spencer, from Year 3, and a little girl in reception.
They received a tub of Heroes chocolates and Bishop’s Stortford business ITVET, based in London Road, match-funded the best effort.
Jo said: “With a licensed bar, barbecue, sweet stall and ice cream van, a great evening was had by all.
“The PTA is so pleased with how much was raised and wants to thank everyone who sponsored a child and helped in the day.
“It was a great end-of-year send-off for our Year 6 children.”
