Red Nose Day: Thorn Grove pupils and staff get red-dy for Comic Relief capers at school

It wasn't just noses that turned red for Comic Relief at Thorn Grove Primary as children ditched their usual blue uniforms in favour of their own clothes.

Nursery teacher Charlotte Jess, the Bishop's Stortford school's charity lead, said of Friday's Red Nose Day fun: "Pupils and staff got out of bed and turned themselves red to raise lots of money.

"The generosity was overwhelming, at what has been such a financially difficult time for many, and we raised a massive total of £276.20."

Charlotte added: "Red Nose Day has always been one of the school's favourite charity days to support and this year proved no different, having only been back in school a couple of weeks.

"Children enjoyed a fun day in their own clothes, despite not being able to take part in whole-school activities as they normally would."
