Three arrested and suspected stolen lawnmowers, jewellery and cash recovered by police near Sawbridgeworth after call from member of the public




A call from a member of the public led to police arresting three men and recovering suspected stolen property near Sawbridgeworth on Wednesday evening (August 7).

Police received a call at around 6.30pm saying that a number of people in vans were acting suspiciously in Parsonage Lane, between Sawbridgeworth and Green Tye.

Intervention response officers and neighbourhood policing team colleagues attended and carried out a search, with assistance from drone operators from the rural operational support team.

Two vans were discovered parked in a field. Officers found several lawnmowers, along with jewellery and cash, inside, all of which were suspected as being stolen.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of non-dwelling burglary and handling stolen goods. They were still in police custody on Thursday morning and enquiries continue.

The vans were also seized.
