Black Lion: Three men arrested after serious assault at Bishop’s Stortford pub




Three men have been arrested by police investigating a serious assault at a pub in Bishop’s Stortford.

A man was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being assaulted by three others in the Black Lion on Sunday December 1 at around 1.18am.

It is reported that following a conversation between two men in the pub on Bridge Street, one punched the other in the face. A scuffle broke out, leading to the victim being assaulted by two more men.

Police, who are treating the incident as a case of grievous bodily harm (GBH), issued an appeal for witnesses and information on Tuesday.

On Friday, a spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary told the Indie: “I can confirm we are no longer looking for witnesses for this incident.

“One man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of GBH. Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

“All three have been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.”
