Three new police recruits ready to pound the beat in East Herts

Three newly qualified police officers are joining the ranks in East Herts.

The trio are among 17 recruits - 10 men and seven women - who have completed their initial training. They include an ex-postie, a restaurant manager and a former building contractor.

Deputy Chief Constable Catherine Akehurst presented the officers with framed certificates and officially welcomed them to the Hertfordshire Constabulary.

“It is always a great delight to welcome new police constables to our Hertfordshire police family,” she said.

“Policing offers a career of opportunity and every day our work in the communities we serve makes a real difference to people.”

On-the-job training will continue until officers are declared fit for independent patrol and graduate.
