Tools taken while Bishop's Stortford workmen have lunch
A thief stole a workman’s tools worth £4,500 from his van in Thorley Park while he was at lunch.
The victim, who was working in Pages Close off Friedberg Avenue, had gone for something to eat on Monday (July 8) between noon and 1pm.
When he returned he saw a door on his Renault Trafic van had been jemmied open and his tools were missing.
The most valuable items were a £1,000 plunge saw, an £800 laser level and a £560 nail gun.
Another workman was targeted in similar fashion on the Stortford Fields development.
He went to get some food last Tuesday (July 2) between 1pm and 2pm. When he returned, a door on his van was wide open and the handle had been broken. His tools and wallet had been stolen.
