Air Albania's tribute to female employee after fatal heart attack at Stansted Airport
Air Albania has paid tribute to the 24-year-old female cabin crew member who died following a flight from Tirana to Stansted Airport.
According to the airline, Greta Dyrmishi suffered a heart attack after passengers travelling from the Albanian capital to Essex disembarked on Wednesday, December 21.
A spokesman for Air Albania told the Indie: “Even after all medical assistance was provided immediately, we still lost her.
“From the first moments, Air Albania contacted her family, and we continue to be close to them in these difficult moments.
“We will always remember Greta as a passionate professional, an excellent co-worker, and a great friend to all of us. May God [have] mercy [on] her and give peace to the family. Air Albania will continue to be with her family.”
The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust confirmed that two ambulances, a hazardous area response team vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance responded to reports that a woman was seriously ill. Essex Police officers were also at the scene.
The Indie was told the aircraft touched down at around 1pm as scheduled and after efforts to save her life at Stansted, the ambulance service took Ms Dyrmishi to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
