Two boys victims of drive-by knife threat in Bishop's Stortford

Two boys were threatened by a gang of would-be robbers in Rye Street last Wednesday evening (August 7).

At around 7pm, a car with three men inside pulled up alongside the teenage boys, who were on foot.

One of the men asked the lads if they knew someone of a certain name. They then realised that he was wielding a kitchen knife. He demanded: “Whatcha got?”

The boys ran off and the car followed. They escaped by hiding in a nearby garden.

The incident has been reported to police and a full investigation is in progress.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has been approached in a similar manner.

If you can help, call the officer leading the investigation, DC Parker, at the local crime unit, on 101 and cite the reference number 41/72199/19.
