UKIP manifesto for East Herts district and Bishop's Stortford town council elections

Our country is in complete disarray and the three main parties have deceived us both nationally and locally for long enough.

Hertfordshire is held back and suffering due to the chaos caused directly by our politicians in Parliament.

They want to change the democratic vote they gave to the people and yet they have no idea what they do want but hate everything we voted for in the 2016 referendum. Negative about everything, demanding they overrule the decision and purposely using delaying tactics as they go.

So what has this to do with Bishop's Stortford and Hertfordshire? Whatever your beliefs on the EU issue, the things we now know for sure are that delay and uncertainty are the biggest contributor to business worries, division amongst us is disgracefully exploited and trust in politicians is at its lowest ebb. Can we really vote blue, red and yellow again?

UKIP want to put that trust back because if we go on supporting failed politicians out of habit then we will continue to get more of the same.

Locally, many believe we have been let down by politicians supporting huge amounts of housebuilding that is already causing chaos and, once completed, will have massive impact on our infrastructure.

Not just the huge problems that we will have with hospitals, doctors, schools and roads, but water, gas and electricity supplies. What about sewage? We, as with all historic towns, have an antiquated system that will not cope when all these houses are connected up.

What about flooding due to flood plains being taken away? Green Belt is being destroyed – with the proposal for 750 homes at Bishop's Stortford South as an example – wildlife lost and much more. It's a disgrace, and UKIP oppose this and will fight it whilst others go along with it.

We will fight locally for the homeless: veterans and local people must get priority help. Council tax waste, needs of local people first, save Green Belt land/flood plains, save and change the high street and local community needs.

It's time for big change. UKIP have been consistent and loyal to their policies for years. Others change and scrap their policies once elected – it's called deceit. Vote UKIP.
