The Save Stansted Village (SSV) campaign to fight plans for 168 new homes at Bentfield Green is gathering huge support from residents.

SSV chair James Hogg said: "This time round it is creating an even greater outcry. We have been inundated with people offering their services."

The group's main focus is to get people to lodge their objection to Bloor Homes' scheme with Uttlesford District Council by September 27. Around 250 online objections have so far been received.

SSV has 7,700 Facebook followers and has delivered leaflets to all homes.

Mr Hogg said that it was "remarkable to see the power of the community pulling together".
