Stortford Fields: Vistry and Leaf Living confirm plans for 105 homes for private rent
More than 100 family homes for private rent are being delivered at the Stortford Fields estate.
Vistry Group and Leaf Living, a specialist provider of professionally managed new-builds, have agreed on a deal.
Construction will begin on 105 SFH (single-family housing) properties - including one and two-bed apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses - in the summer.
The first handovers to new tenants are anticipated a year later. Verity Macey, managing director at Vistry Central Home Counties said: “Vistry’s partnerships model has been designed to deliver the mix of housing tenures that communities need and this phase of Stortford Fields is a great example of this, with the provision of both affordable and SFH homes now agreed.
“We are very pleased to be working in collaboration with our valued SFH partner Leaf Living, helping to meet the strong demand for high-quality rental accommodation in this popular and well-connected community.”
Will Montague, chief executive of Leaf Living, said: “This latest deal in our longstanding partnership with Vistry is further testament to our commitment to delivering much-needed and high-quality rental homes at scale in England.
“A varied choice of tenure is crucial for helping to alleviate the housing shortage, with single-family homes to rent in the right locations providing a sustainable, long-term solution for tenants.”
Vistry’s deal with Leaf Living is the final part of a 159 mixed-tenure phase. The remaining 54 properties are affordable homes in partnership with Home Group.
Vistry is also providing community facilities including play areas, informal outdoor spaces and sports facilities, allotments and a community centre.
This phase of Stortford Fields is part of a wider plan for 2,200 new homes.
