Tickets for Party in the Park, the free music festival in Bishop's Stortford in July, have all gone – but you can still get into the town's party of the year by volunteering.

Event organisers are looking for people to cover a range of roles such as stewarding, hospitality and backstage support.

Party in the Park in Sworder's Field on Saturday July 16 – featuring headliners The Brand New Heavies and The Hoosiers – celebrates Stortford's community heroes, especially those who stepped up during the Covid pandemic.

The totally community-driven event, which relies on the help and support of local businesses and volunteers, is the brainchild of Richard Fountain, chief executive of London Road firm ITVET.

He said: "Volunteers are a key component of the event, helping us ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. I would urge as many people as possible to get involved and help us create an amazing day for our local unsung heroes. Volunteering is an incredible way to give back to the community, meet new people and learn new skills while also having fun!”

Volunteers will receive food and drink on the day, and when they are not working they can enjoy the entertainment.

All proceeds from Party in the Park will be donated to the four headline charities: Stortford Heroes, Grove Cottage, Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank and Centre Algarve.
