Welcome Rangers back in action at Bishop’s Stortford car parks Jackson Square and Northgate End to assist Christmas shoppers
Welcome Rangers will be in action at two Bishop’s Stortford car parks this Saturday (December 14) to assist Christmas shoppers.
The staff, funded by the town’s BID (Business Improvement District), returned to Jackson Square multi-storey car park and were in place at the Northgate End multi-storey car park last Saturday as the festive season began in earnest.
A spokeswoman for the BID said the feedback was positive, with visitors commenting that the rangers – whose role is to help drivers find spaces and buy the most appropriate ticket using machines or an app – were a deterrent to anti-social behaviour.
Because the rangers at both locations are in contact, they were able to co-ordinate and direct queuing drivers to the car park with the most empty bays.
The BID spokeswoman said: “As a result of the positive feedback, the BID is bringing the rangers back to Jackson Square car park this Saturday (December 14) and next Saturday (December 21) to continue supporting shoppers at this busy time of year.
“The Welcome Rangers will continue to be in Northgate End car park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays up until Christmas, from 10am to 4pm.”
