Visitors to Wickham Hall enjoyed afternoon tea in the sunshine, raising £1,262 for Isabel Hospice.

The open garden event, hosted by owners David and Suzy Harvey, celebrated the charity's 40th anniversary.

More than 100 visitors enjoyed refreshments accompanied by music from Bishop's Stortford Ukulele Society while businesses based at Wickham Hall, off Hadham Road, donated raffle prizes.

Renee Friend, chair of the hospice volunteer support group in Stortford, said: "Thanks to our hosts and the businesses’ generosity, together with wonderful support from our visitors, we raised £1,262 for our hospice.

"This sum could pay for our Living Well with Isabel day services locally and throughout East Hertfordshire for a day."
