Dunmow resident Kathryn Irons charged with attempted murder of woman in her 60s near town's Co-op store




A Dunmow woman will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday (August 7) charged with attempted murder.

Kathryn Irons, 53, of Conifer Way, has also been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

It follows an incident at around 10.20am on Thursday (August 6) when a woman in her 60s suffered neck injuries near the Co-op store in White Street.

Essex Police arrested a woman at the scene. The force says it is not looking for anyone else in connection with the case and there is no risk to the wider community.
