Woman to appear in court accused of stealing vodka from Aldi in Bishop's Stortford

A 38-year-old woman is to appear in court after a shoplifter stole vodka from Aldi in Bishop's Stortford.

Hayley Cain, of Cheshunt, is due before Stevenage magistrates on Wednesday September 22 charged with theft.

The incident at the supermarket in London Road happened at around 4.30pm on Friday August 20.

Police arrested a female shortly afterwards and two bottles of vodka, worth £84, were recovered from beneath a bush.

* Thieves stole 11 dehumidifiers worth £2,450 from Homebase in Bishop's Stortford.

Three males entered the home and garden improvements store off Stansted Road at around 11am on Tuesday August 24.

Police said one of them distracted a member of staff while the others filled a trolley with the dehumidifiers, which are used to remove excess moisture from the air. They left without paying.
